Start your creative journey into the performing, written and visual arts. Develop and hone your artistic skills while realizing the power of artistic expression to transform lives, build bridges and lift the spirit. Whether you are singer/songwriter seeking to polish your sound; a visual artist striving to fine-tune your craft; or an actor looking to deepen your performance. Whatever your medium, you will find instruction, development and encouragement through Gravity.

Workshops will be held every Saturday from January 6th thru February 10th unless otherwise noted on course descriptions (no classes will be held on January 20th).

All workshops will be held on the Zarephath Campus, New Jersey. Class locations will be announced after the registration period has closed.

Singer Songwriting

Instructor, Lorraine Ferro

Saturday afternoons from 1pm - 3pm

Course Description: This course will help students grow into industry professionals through honest and constructive critiques. Emphasis is placed on developing techniques such as writing honestly and with integrity while remaining accessible to your audience, and what it takes to overcome mental blocks in order to finish a song. Students benefit not only from feedback from Lorraine as well as other participants, but also from critiquing other’s works; this allows for a deeper understanding of what works and what is missing. Through this course artists will have the opportunity to be involved not only in a class, but a network of other professionals.

Private coaching – $85 per hour private sessions are offered on Mondays in state of the art facilities. Call for time slot.

Improvisational Jazz
(Intermediate to expert)

Saturday mornings from 9am - 1pm


Course Description: This course offers an opportunity for instrumentalists to grow and develop in the realm of jazz improvisation, where the musician becomes a spontaneous composer. This workshop series will conclude with students presenting a fun and interactive group jam in an upcoming Gravity-sponsored engagement.

Basic Drawing
(16 to adult)

Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 9:30pm


Course Description: This course is about learning to see, visual awareness expanded through the observation of light and the translation of three-dimensional form into two-dimensional drawings. Students will work in various media: pen, pencil and charcoal. Open for beginners and those who wish to advance their skills.

Creative Writing (14 to adult)

Course Description: This student-directed approach is intended to encourage and refine the natural writing talents that are untapped in each individual. It will focus on the unique talents and gifting of each participant to foster personal style. Students will also improve their own evaluation skills by participating in peer-review of others’ works. Most importantly, it will provide a safe environment to experiment in the art of words.

Audio Engineering Two Day Intensive
(16 to adult)

Course Description: In this workshop, Andrew will provide an in-depth look at both the creative and scientific aspects of audio engineering. The workshop will provide hands-on instruction in the use of mixing boards, equalizers, compressors, amplifiers, effects processors, speakers, and microphones. Saturday will provide the skills needed to engineer a live.

Sunday will be dedicated to current recording technologies, with a session spent using Steinberg’s Cubase SX system to record and mix audio. Both courses will give you a new understanding and appreciation of the many sounds that we encounter in our lives.

• Live Sound – Saturday, January 13th from 9am - 1pm

• Audio Recording – Sunday, January 14th from 1 - 5pm

Theater Arts, Acting For Teens
Instructor, Michael Rhett

Saturday afternoons from 1pm - 4pm

Course Description: This workshop will provide students with an edge in the audition process. Frequent group critiques will improve students self-awareness of their performances. The focus will be on scene study, character and beat breakdown, breathing and relaxation exercises. Acting and object exercises will hone students’ ability to maintain presence on stage. Stanislavski, Hagen, Meisner, and other major acting instructors will be covered. This is intended to be a safe environment for development and exploration for artists of all skill levels. Class size is limited to 12 students.

Improvisational Comedy
For Teens

Saturday mornings from 9am - 12pm


Course Description:
This course will cover the art and philosophy of improv comedy, which is the perfect antidote to the negative messages that paralyze creativity both on and off stage. This course will transform students into courageous risk-takers who trust their artistic instincts. Drew has helped students from diverse backgrounds and experiences to become enthusiastic, capable improvisers. Those taking this class can expect to develop confidence, teamwork, selflessness, and the ability to think on one’s feet. All potential students are also warned that they will likely experience a cornucopia of laughter, adrenaline and fun.

Become an improv comedian and actor ALL IN ONE WEEK! Same as the adult workshop in a fraction of the time. Students may choose one course or both for a full day workshop.


Limited slots available. Due to limited number of slots for our instructional program, we will only be able to facilitate on a first come first serve basis. If you are interested in being placed on our waiting list we would love to let you know when more classes become available.
